They were a new team formed last season and got to 2 finals in their 1st season together. A massive achievement as only 3 girls had ever kicked a ball before they had joined the team. Well done girls.
The Club’s ‘Wyrley Mums play Football Centre’ starts tomorrow night – Friday 9th February – 7 til 8 at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre.
The club has been granted a centre by The FA as part of a national initiative to get more women playing football.
The sessions are for women aged over 16 who want to get active and learn new skills as well as creating a social scene.
Coaching will be carried out by a Wyrley mum who has a Level 1 – Mel Guest – who also coaches one of our boys teams.
We already have a number of ladies who have asked to attend but we’d like a few more. It’s free the first two weeks and then only £3 every week afterwards.
Come on girls!! Try it out.

Twenty fourth up is our Wyrley Juniors Jaguars U11s. Words from manager Rich Cooper: – “This team has been flying the club fag since leaving the Wyrley Academy early in 2013. They have gone from strength to strength every season since and having had spells in the WJFL and the LDRL they are now well placed in the fiercely competitive Midland Junior Premier League. Player development in the last 12 months has been nothing short of incredible, a tight team spirit and desire to learn see’s the lads with up coming games in the semi final of the cup and a play off Winter group decider. Whatever the outcome from these and remaining MJPL games, the 2017/18 season will go down as a massive success both on and off the pitch. The hugely committed parents also have to take a lot of credit for the teams development, their continued support of both the players and management team is greatly appreciated.”
Our U15s Meerkats girls met the ‘Mini Messi’, Fran Kirby after Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Birmingham Ladies last Saturday.
